Thinking about Going To Ghana? Make Sure You Study About Your Travel Insurance Options
In 2006 the European Union made a few alterations to policies regarding traveling in European and African countries, because of what they say is a result of the 9/11 attacks. It isnt surprising for people to be very anxious because of the terrorism all across the globe and so they just want to make sure that it is safe for them to travel.
Ghana isnt that popular with tourists because of a high crime rate and violence in the place. There was even an occasion where citizens in Ghana made some horrible outbreaks at Embassy Offices and the Ghanaian officials have tried everything they have in order to prevent them from filing a petition to immigrate out of the country and into the United States. This may be alarming for travelers who want to go to the country.
Ghana has various travel insurance policies that they provide, one of which is very unusual. They will offer you travel insurance at a bus terminal in the case that something happens, and will tell you that if something happens your policy isnt accepted in their country, or it will not be covered. However, make sure you talk to the travel insurance company you have been working with. The purpose of buying the travel insurance is because it covers you at the destination point, and when you are traveling. The only word of caution on this is that although some companies list countries as high risk, they are no doubt higher premiums, but that does not mean they dont cover you in Ghana. There often several types of travel health insurance available, including cheap travel insurance plans such as adventure travel insurance.
You need to get a visa to travel in Ghana if you are not part of ECOWAS (The Economic Community of West African States). You are free for the first 30 days if you are from Egypt, Kenya or Zimbabwe, after that 30 days expires you would be required to have one as well. If you are from one of the countries mentioned, be aware that you need to pay extra if you wish to stay longer in Ghana.
