The Earths 7 Wonders: The Sites You Cant Miss
Many aspire to world travel but often dont know where to begin. With so much to see, its important to have a plan and many have made it their goal to glimpse the Seven Wonders of the World during their lifetime. Since it takes a lot of time and money to see the innumerable beautiful and interesting places in the world, narrowing the list is wise and getting the needed passport is as easy as going to your computer and filling out an online United States passport application. Since six of the seven wonders are in a foreign country, you will certainly need to get that passport to get on your way.
Only one of the original Seven Wonders of the World still exists on the Seven Wonders list and that is the Great Pyramids of Giza. What was originally called the Seven Wonders of the World is now named the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This new list has been compiled and presents the best new wonders.
Victoria Falls in Africa is the first on the new Seven Wonders of the World list. Located in both Zambia and Zimbabwe, it is birthed by the Zambezi River. It is double the height of Niagara Falls and double the width of Horseshoe Falls. Victoria Falls is among the largest in the entire world and has been named by the local natives The Smoke That Thunders. One visit and you will know instantly why they chose this name.
The United States is home to the second wonder. Located in Arizona, the Grand Canyon has been one of the top destinations in the world giving the traveler an opportunity to see what the Colorado River has carved over the last million years. With this breathtaking sight being right here in the United States, an pass port is not required.
The third wonder is located off the coast of Australia in the Coral Sea and is the Great Barrier Reef. Known to be the largest reef system in the world, it is 1,600 miles long and is made up of over 2,900 individual reefs. Amazingly, this wonder can even been seen from space.
Forth on our list of new wonders is located in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. The Art Deco statue of Christ the Redeemer towers 130 feet height and 100 feet wide and looks down on the city of Rio. It is located at the top of Mount Corcovado which reaches a height of 2,300 feet. This statue of Christ is known to be the largest Art Deco statue in the world.
Mount Everest is a tower number five and is known to be the highest location on the face of the earth. Reaching 29,002 feet, a family vacation to this location would consist of a breathing view from the summit but to the experienced mountain climber, it presents a challenge of a lifetime.
The sixth Wonder of the World is more of an occurrence than an actual place. It is the Aurora or what is sometimes called the Northern Lights. While it is seen best from far northern latitudes in Canada and other extremely northern countries, to see these lights dancing in the sky is a sight never to be forgotten.
The final wonder of the world is Paricitun, a volcano in Mexico. Surrounding this volcano is the lava-covered town of Michoac¡n, Mexico.
As you can see, our world has so many incredible sights to enjoy, it would take more than one lifetime to see them all so start with the newly listed top seven.
