Hungary Has It
Hungary has always been a country of changes, we get our name for it from when it was under the control of The Huns yet with its Central European location it has been a buffer for the rest of Europe against the Turks and indeed was under the control of the Ottomans for over 150 years in the Early Modern period. After this it became a part of the Hapsburg monarchy then, as such, became half of the Austro-Hungarian Empire which lasted until the end of the First World War when it again became a kingdom in and of itself. This state of affairs lasted until 1946 when, after the Second World War, Hungary became a republic and was absorbed into the Soviet Bloc.Once the Soviet era was over Hungary had to make the difficult transition from planned economy to free market economy, a transition which meant many hardships for the average Hungarian. Rather than depend on Gyors hitel or loans the Hungarian government introduced income tax and cut public welfare programmes yet the national debt still went up 1,500% between 1973 and 1993
