Unlike a lot of other cities, Downtown Los Angeles isn’t exactly the main point of LA but it is a metro area with tons of ethnicities that form an the city on their own. Traditionally this was known as the business center of the whole city and the hotels in the area were often occupied by business and corporate travelers. All of this is changing today, thanks to a major clean up initiative taken in the 90s and today the Downtown LA area has become the cultural center of the entire city so many nice restaurants have been added, making it a choice destination for travelers in California.
There are so many hotels to choose from in Downtown LA and the hotels are usually occupied by business travelers Monday thru Friday but when they head out for the weekend, the area is represented by a new image – and that’s one that is colorful and vibrant. Although many of the hotels are offering great weekend packages and deals at unmatched rates as these packages offer an amazing value for the cost. If you do choose to try out Downtown LA, you will not have to worry about the city lights being too far away because the many freeways that pass through the area get you to any hot spot with minimum problems.
However do your best to avoid rush hour traffic, as you will certainly find yourself stuck in the same spot for hours, luckily though, you might take the Metro Line to Universal Studios and other areas. Despite these excellent weekend rates and perfect weekend packages of hotels Los Angeles, Downtown LA will at certain times feel empty and even a little deserted. The exciting and jumping atmosphere of Venice Beach or maybe Hollywood will certainly be missed because there is not a ton of night life in that area and it is pretty much quiet after sundown.
It’s important to remember that downtown Los Angeles is not like the beach towns in California, nor is it anything like Hollywood, which is usually portrayed in tv shows and movies. You may want to book Los Angeles hotels if you have a business meeting in the downtown area and just want a relaxing evening the night before the meeting.
